What is Exercise & Sport Science?

According to Wikipedia, exercise science is "the study of the acute and chronic adaptions in response to a wide-range of physical exercise conditions. In addition, many exercise physiologists study the effect of exercise on pathology, and the mechanisms by which exercise can reduce or reverse disease progression." They also defined sport science as a discipline that studies the application of scientific principles and techniques with the aim of improving sporting performance."
